 Flat Panel Televisions

If you are looking to save some space in your house by getting rid of that old television, then you should look into getting a flat panel TV. It is the same as your old TV but with one major different, it is flat not a big box-like thing that takes up half of your living room floor. All of the technology is the same just in a smaller more manageable form.

You can choose from two types of flat panel TVs. One is plasma and the other one is LCD. Both TVs work the same the only difference between them is how the picture is brought to you so you can see it. Plasma televisions are great for a frontal view. By this it is recommended that you sit in front of the TV when watching it otherwise you might not be able to see the clear picture.

This type of television is found to be reflective and when the sun shines on it you cannot see the screen at all. Plasma TVs are great for darker rooms such as a basement or a den because the sunlight will not shine on the screen and distort the picture.

LCD flat panel TVs are thinner than the plasma TVs but the LCD’s offer something else that the plasmas do not. All LCD televisions are shine resistant which means you can put this type of TV in your living room without worrying about the glare from windows and doors.

Also you can watch this television from all angles in the room with no distortion. LCD televisions are flatter so this makes it possible to hang your TV on the wall with a wall mount you can find at any surplus store or department store such as Wal-Mart or Kmart in the electronics department. So just remember these televisions are different in many ways but they both are just TVs after all.
