The Eurovox EX8000 is a brand new Eurovox product which makes watching and recording of high definition viewing easy.It has an external USB hard drive and it can be PVR upgraded. It also makes it possible to play back desired multimedia files without hassles.

The Eurovox EX8000′s appearance is similar to that of Samsung products with smart looking and glossy surface. It has a 12-character flourescent display, standby clock, and basic menu configuration. Its display settings can be dimmed or diminished based on preference .

It has a very complicated rear panel for diverse conceivable connections. It has a loopthrough output just like the terrestial and satellite turner. S-video,Composite, Scarts and VCR connections can also be initiated. There is a USB terminal with CI slots at the right hand part of the front panel.

It is also worthy of note that it possesses a PVR and an ethernet port which have not been adequately maximised.

The Eurovox EX8000 is quite easy to install and its dish setting option makes it possible to decide on the signals you choose to receive. You can decide to turn DISCqC either on or off. The dish can then be rotated stepwisely based on the transponder’s position.

Users have noticed significant improvement in picture quality in Eurovox Max PVR and the channels now have noticeable higher bit rate. There is a crave for an add reminder feature to remind users of their favourite TV programs in order not to miss them.

Below are some other products from Eurovox

- Cable Receivers
- Terrestial Receivers
- Cable Accessories
- Satellite Receivers
- Satellite Accessories
- Cams/Cards

HDMI is a component video connection. The use of the technology has become more popular because of the image quality. The versatility of the HDMI component video connection is seen via the connector and monitor. HDMI carries audio as well as video components within the set encoding scheme. This makes it possible to connect any DVI source to the HDMI monitor.
The absence of the intervening converter box simply adds to the quality. The technology is designed to a better image than that produced by an analog component video connection. The resultant digital and the analog signals are dependent upon the features of the source and display device. HDMI supports a variety of dedicated resolutions. The main difference in quality comes from the signal delivery in the digital format.
On the other hand, the use of a component cable involves signal delivery in the form of varying voltage –red, green and blue components. The sync information in the case of HDMI component video connection is delivered in a format called Transmission Minimized Differential Signaling, where the blue channel has additional horizontal and vertical sync. In the case of component cable, the color information is split in three. The color-difference signal comprises Luminance, Red Minus Luminance and Blue Minus Luminance.
Both, HDMI component video connection and component cable signal types are fundamentally similar. The difference in viewing depends on the particular characteristics of the source and display device and the cabling. The HDMI is considered error-free, while component cable has analog signals that are known for degradation and information loss. However, there is no reason for the perceptible degradation even amidst home theater installation.
HDMI component video connections are reputed to be built to professional standards and hence, the digital signal handling is considered always error-free. The HDMI signal format is purely digital, from the digital satellite signal to the display unit, with neither loss nor alteration.

What Video “Toys” Can Give You

The times when video was reserved only for small-scale private use are long gone. Today you have the widest choice ever for audio/video products. These products are really easy to get, just check the store down the street or get online. Basically today you can turn your living room into a full-scale cutting-edge private movie theatre if you have the budget. The obvious pluses of audio video switches, for example, are organization, simplicity, flexibility, and performance. Audio/video switch is the solution that makes your life much easier regardless of what you are up to – setting up your home theatre system, professionally editing video and need to have all your equipment effectively plagued together.

A video matrix switch can extend the range of your possibilities, as it allows you to connect multiple video sources to multiple destinations like LCD monitors, plazmas, projectors etc. A video matrix switch can in fact be the central element in your signal management system when it comes to presentation applications. A matrix switch basically simplifies the signal routing process, which makes it perfect for classroom, presentations and boardrooms. For presentation purposes you can simply switch videos from many sources connect to one or multiple displays.

Matrix switches insurie that signal integrity is maintained throughout the system. For instance, if a single computer video output is routed to 12 video monitors, it will appear as if they were connected directly to the original source. HDMI cable extenders for high definition multimedia interface are also worth considering when upgrading your equipment. The main advantages of high definition multimedia interface over standard analog video transmission is that it is 100 per cent digital from source to display.

If you you are linking your source and projector with the help of HDMI or DVI cable and you the connection keeps dropping out you may want to consider an HDMI cable extender. It will equalize and make up for the losses caused by HDMI and DVI cables, helping you to extend cable reach to projectors or monitors. Apart from just phisically extending the cable reach HDMI cable extenders are low power device so they help save power. On top of that, the HDMI cable extenders are typically very easy to use and their operation scheme is almost “Plug and Play”.

The falling costs of flat screen tv’s has resulted in bigger screens for most homes. The most common location for these to be placed, estimated at 75%, is above the fireplace in the central room of the house. The increase in size both women and designers have been having serious issues with a 50-70? black glass object as the centrepiece and main point of the living room.

In theory it is simply a visual or mechanical change when the TV is hidden away, to many it changes the entire atmosphere of any room. Even when the display is turned off, attention is either consciously or unconsciously drawn towards the blank television screen. This is not simply a figment of peoples imaginations, it is very real, and it can have a direct effect on both the decoration and atmosphere of the room.

Concealment devices are essentially custom made furniture. Due to both TV sizes and room plans there is not one solution that works for everyone, hence why such systems often cost more than the TV itself. The justification is that the time, money and creative effort spent in making the room look good is not masked by trying to make a 50″ piece of black glass blend non-existently into the room decor.

If you were to do some some detailed market research you would find there is a gap in the market for television stands which fit this criteria. There are a number of different ways to get around this problem. All with certain pros and cons. The widely used option is usually a plasma television lift.

A television lift effectively combines both an item of furniture and a TV stand. It gives the user the ability to swap between viewing a piece of everyday furniture or viewing the tv. This is operated using a remote controlled lifting mechanism which is fitted inside the furniture. When activated this mechanism will trigger a steel lift to move which then will cause the television to gently rise from the furniture and effectively turn it into a television stand.

This solution effectively solves all the problems bought to attention by a home designer. The rooms look and feel does not have to be compromised, rather modified in a way which cannot be seen. The television no longer has to be in full view unless you require it to be. As well as this there are vast security benefits which mean your television is a lot less likely to be thiefed or broken in the every day russle around your home.

Conclusion

No matter what efforts television manufacturers put into their aesthetic design, they do not solve the problem of having a large blank screen take over a room when the TV is off. It comes as no surprise then, that demand for concealment solutions has been doubling every year for a while now.

Through learning about concealment mechanisms, professionals such as www.tdkjoinery.co.uk can offer the home owner a solution allows a large TV to be hidden within the decor using TV lifts, while maintaining the visual design of the room. It is a win-win situation for both parties.

Because of HDTV’s increasing popularity these days, which is of course due to its incredible character, more and more consumers are making a switch to HDTV. But there are several misconceptions and myths related to HDTV. Here are some of the most common HDTV myths

1.	All programs are going to be in a better display on HDTV sets-
This is not always true. Your HDTV set will give you the best picture it can produce from the incoming standard definition programming. This may even involve the shrinking of the image. These sets try to change the nature of a standard def picture to a high def one but the results are not always optimal.

2.	It is better to buy a 1080p set-
This is also not very true. The sets which are able to display all the pixels, it’s very tough to point out the difference between 1080i and 1080p. It does not matter at all whether the set is 1080p or 1080i if the set is marked with 1920 x1080 resolution. Moreover, none of the programs telecast on air, through cable or through satellite are 1080p.

3.	Bigger the display, better it is-
It is seen that if you sit too close to a TV set you are able to see the pixels, i.e., the very small elements of the image. So buying a very large TV set, you will start noticing individual pixels. Therefore it is recommended to buy a TV set matching your requirements and furnishings. More so, if you have an upconverting TV or receiver it can shrink many of the standard def pictures to work on big widescreen televisions. This shows that bigger screens are better for watching standard def programming.

4.	Plasma sets give problems with burn-in-
This problem was shown by older plasma sets. But the HDTV sets have a circuitry which shifts the pixels a bit to avoid phosphor burn.
Plasma televisions are still sensitive to higher altitudes and give problems. Furthermore, the weigh more, are thicker, and use more electricity than LCD’s.

5.	You should buy the more expensive HDMI cables-
HDMI sets a standard for the cables to be used. So any HDMI cable that complies with one of the two set standards should be the same as the more expensive one. The only reason to pay more would be to get the high speed facility. Such cables provide with ‘Deep Color’ and lossless audio quality.

The truth about Blu-Ray

The format war is over and Blu-Ray has rained triumphant. So the question is, a $1,000 player, is it worth it?

First of all lets make some things clear. After HD-DVD went dead we were told that the prices of Blu-Ray players would go down. Well of course that didn’t happen. Since its only competitor was out of the market we say a jump in the prices of not only the systems but also the media.

Obviously if you’re thinking about getting a Bly-Ray player you would have (or considering getting) a high-definition screen. Now depending on the resolution of your screen it can be pretty pointless on getting an Blu-Ray player. A screen with the size of 32 inches is not going to show DVD’s much different if they are regular format over a HD format. But if we’re talking 42 inches and above it can be.

Blue-Ray has had some problems (one of the reasons Sony’s PS3 was delayed for over a year). But most of those have been taken care of. Yet the main thing that continues to plague most consumers is if its worth it to spend the 1k now on a player only to find out a couple months later the prices dropped considerably or a new technology is out.

Blu-Ray is not the only one in this war though. As HD downloads become more popular its getting more competition. Since HD downloads only require a hard or some other storage media to hold the recording on it’s a lot more practical.

The only drawback is these require huge hard drives. But with the price of external and internal hard drives lowering daily it’s a lot more cost effective.

Probably the most practical ways to own a Blu-Ray player for a lot less than the average $1,000 price is getting a PS3. At just around $400 for the base models it provides a Blu-Ray ROM and also a next generation console system.

It so happens that most of the times a new technology hits the market it takes a couple years for the price to come down. That was the case with HD TV’s, Notebook computers among others. For that reason I would suggest sticking out Blu-Ray for another year. After all the current DVD’s don’t look that bad and you can get near 1080dpi with a reasonably priced DVD up-converter player.

So in conclusion, unless you’re planning on setting up a home theater system that values in the thousands I would suggest leaving the Blu-Ray option open for a while. On the other hand getting HD downloads is not a bad idea as it is cheaper. And once you have storage space to hold these downloads its just as good as a Blu-Ray player.

But if absolutely must get a Blu-Ray player its not that much to spend the money of a computer on one of the players. Just don’t be too surprised if you see their prices fall below the $500 this November as Blu-Ray dics only count for 7% of the DVD market at the moment. Before buying make sure to read up on some Blu-Ray Disc Player Reviews

Best Entry Level HD Camcorders

So you’re one of those interested in the new HD format of media? Well its cool to watch the Blu-ray DVD’s but what if you want to start shooting them? What is the best equipment on the market for this? In this article we will take a look at a few entry level HD camcorders. All of them are under $1,000.

Canon Vixia HF100

The Canon Vixia HF100 is not the first in HD camera market but it is a very versatile camera and at a price of just under $900 it’ll have you up and making your own home HD movies in no time.

The camera records in AVCHD format at 17 megabits per second (maximum) which gives you round about 2 hours and 5 minutes of video. At the lowest bit rate (5Mbps) it can hold 6 hours and 5 minutes of record time. The highest bit rate supports the full 1080dpi. The lens on the camera performs beautifully and the only drawback is the manual function (which Canon loves of course) that is not that practical on a video camcorder.

The bottom line is this camera is an excellent buy and with the ability to store media on removable cards (SD to be exact) it’s a solid buy for those who are interested in heading into the HD revolution.

Sony Handycam HDR-SR11

Sony is no stranger to the HD revolution as their Blu-Ray discs and solid lines of HD TV’s have set the standard for the HD market. Canon has had quite a few pro level HD cameras on the market for quite a while. But its not until recently that they started offering more entry level models. The Handycam HDR SR11 is one of them.

The SR11 sports a 60GB drive which offers full 1,920×1080 HD capture capabilities. The maximum 16Mbps AVCHD recording mode is awesome. At this resolution you can hold 7 hours and 10 minutes of video on the 60GB drive. If you lower it to the minimum 5Mbps it can hold an impressive 22 hours and 50 minutes of video. The included battery allows you to record up to an hour and a half on a single charge.

The lens on the camera is also impressive. The 12x optical Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar lens is among the best quality in the entry level market. Not surprising that means that the camera can also take stills in 10.2MP.

The video quality is excellent. Recording is a snitch with the user friendly controls and audio quality is very good. Of course it does lack the ability to attach an external microphone but no need to worry as it offers features such as zooming in on sound and setting the quality for louder or softer sounds.

All in all the SR11 is a great buy. And with a starting price tag of under $950 you will be more than satisfied with this one.

Other Models

Other models to take note of are the Canon Vixia HF10
, Sony Handyman HDR-CX7. Both of these models are very good but carry one or two problems with quality and recording functions.

Last but not least let us look at the main things you want to check when getting an HD camcorder.

Resolution: This is the foundation of the HD industry. With the current level of HD camcorders it is safe to say that one should not settle for less than full 1080dpi.

Lens: You can have the best CMOS but if your lens are not up to par your video quality will not be good.

Compatibility: This is extremely important if you will not be shooting in the HD format all the time. You don’t want to buy a camcorder that only shoots in HD and cannot down convert to standard definition.

Buying a HDTV is very hard due to the constant rising and falling of the prices. The prices are constantly fluctuating because of the demand of the HDTV’s due to the conversion in February 2009. Here are a few tips to save you some money on your next purchase of your brand new HDTV.

You can buy a HDTV online and you can get a great deal just remember to do your shopping and try and find the best deal that you can. Many companies offer a discount from the manufacturer themselves if you buy a HDTV from them online and the good side to this is your TV will be shipped right to you. Also before you rush out and buy a HDTV, check reviews and comments on the TVs because you can find something interesting in them.

Set up a bot so that can it can notify you when sales hit the market. They will send you an automatic alert allowing you to get instant access to the deal. You can set the bot for your price range and the model of the HDTV you want and when that brand and your price pops up, you get notified from the store so you can head right there and get the exact TV you want.

Check the store flyers like the ads from best buy and radio shack and other ads like them. You can find great deals in those ads and if you look closely you can find some stores will match the price of other stores just to bring in more customers. Usually the stores that offer this only offer it for a limited time like 30 days or less so you have to act quickly if you want that deal. If you get one of these deals make sure you hold onto the receipt so just in case you do not like it you can take it back and get a brand you like or want.

By not getting the extended warranty you can save your money because of the break down rate. Not saying it can not happen but normally a plasma or LCD TV will not break down in the first two years of operation.

Do I need to get an HDTV in 2009?

The revolution is here to switch over to digital TV and then what is everyone going to do if you do not have cable? On February 17, 2009, all signals sent out by the television companies have to broadcast in digital. This means you need a special antenna or a digital converter box in order to watch free TV. The federal government agency, the FCC, has set the standard controls to digital broadcasting. Right now all of the signals you are receiving through your antenna is what the technological people call an analog signal and the FCC said that coming in February 2009, the signal would have to be switched to digital. This means you will have to upgrade your TV antenna in order to get a signal.
Do not worry, you will not have to go out and buy a new TV in order to still get a signal. Right now out on the market you can buy a digital converter box or an antenna to get a signal to avoid the shut off of your free TV.

Here are the best TV Antennas:

You can also save some money on buying a converter box because if you go online you can request a coupon to save you $40 on one of those boxes but you can only get two coupons per household. The box is well worth the purchase because you do get other channels to watch free of charge and you do not even have to order cable.

If you want to get an HDTV it is up to you but if you do make sure you get the right information about the new HDTV’s. Some of those TVs offer great deals and a great warranty for your TV. The HDTV’s offers a good picture and you can save a lot of room in your living room by getting a flat screen TV. You can buy a wall mount to put your TV on and now you have opened up a lot of room in your living room.
